Rame (Sinau) App ("App") is developed as a Japanese language learning tool that prioritizes privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Overview (Offline-First)

Rame is an offline-first application.

Most key features, including dictionary search, flashcards, and quizzes, run entirely on your device without requiring an active internet connection after initial data download.

We do not have a central server that stores your personal data.

Your learning progress, search history, notes, and settings are stored locally within your device's internal storage.

2. Android Permissions

The App requests the following permissions to support its functionality:

Internet Access INTERNET ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
- Used to download dictionary databases, audio pronunciation, and images.
- Used by Google AdMob to load advertisements.
- Used by the internal browser to access websites of your choice.
Storage WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
- Only requested on older Android devices (below Android 10) to support downloading files via the internal browser to device storage.
Notifications POST_NOTIFICATIONS
- Used to send daily study reminders and notifications when flashcards are "due" (SRS).
Alarms SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM
- Used to schedule study reminder notifications accurately according to the time you set.
Foreground Service FOREGROUND_SERVICE
- Data Sync: Used to ensure large dictionary database downloads run stably in the background.
- Media Playback: Used so that audio pronunciation or media in the browser continues playing when you switch apps.

3. Data Collection and Usage

A. Data You Provide

Learning Activity & Usage: We store quiz progress data, flashcard scores, kanji history, download history, bookmarks, and browsing history locally on your device. This data is stored privately and is never sent off your device by us.

B. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services that may collect data for their own operations:

Google AdMob (Ads)
- We use Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and native ads.
- AdMob may use Device Advertising IDs and other tracking technologies to show relevant ads.
- We implement Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage user consent regarding privacy policies.

Google Play Services
- This app uses Google Play Services to support core functionality, including ad services and other Android system infrastructure.

Third-Party Websites (Internal Browser)
- The App features a browser to read Japanese news or articles.
- When you visit websites via our internal browser, those websites' privacy policies apply. We do not intercept, store, or track your browsing history on our servers.

C. Remote Configuration

The App periodically fetches small configuration files (JSON) from our server (Cloudflare Worker) to update ad settings and features without needing an app update.
This process only fetches data and does not transmit your personal data.

4. Data Security

Since data is stored locally, the security of your data depends heavily on the physical security of your device. We recommend using a screen lock (PIN/Pattern/Fingerprint) to protect your device from unauthorized access.

5. Data Sources and Licenses

This App uses public lexical data. Please note the following licenses:

JMdict/KANJIDIC: Copyright held by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG) and used under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0.
SudachiDict: Developed by Works Applications Co., Ltd. and used under Apache License 2.0.
